- There is something alive within the gloomy walls of Carwell Grange and it is not quite human. This spine-chilling, Victorian-era thriller pits bone-chilling fear against hot-blooded passion. As an orphaned child, Alice Maybell was taken in by Squire Fairfields. Now that she has grown into a beautiful young woman, his intentions have turned sinister. When she secretly marries his son, Charles, the Squire's wrath explodes and the desperate couple flee to the remote family home at Carwell Grange. There are dark secrets in this house and Alice soons feels something more malevolent than the Squire stalking her - an evil presence the servants only discuss in terrifed whispers - and this horror is about to unleash all of its black fury on her! the squire's other son. Alice faces the loss of her child and possible loss of her husband amid the gloomy home she feels trapped in, surrounded by secrets and mysteries and wondering who she can really trust
