Summary
"Thousands of Netherlanders had settled in the Americas during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Their records pertaining to what is now New York have long been available to their descendants seeking their roots. However, there are additional records in Europe, mostly in archives in London, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam, which are not generally available to researchers in North America. This book is based on such records and identifies early Dutch settlers and some of their descendants, also a few early shipping links, in the Americas between 1615 and 1815." -- Introduction
