Summary
A retelling of the tragedy of Sigfrid and Brunahild. In the court of the Burgunds, Sigfrid is given a potion to make him forget Brunahild and fall in love with Gudrun. The potion even makes him offer his help to the king to win over Brunahild, awaiting Sigfrid's return, spurning the king's advances, saying she will only wed the man who can defeat her. In disguise Sigfrid does so, then to his horror realizes what he has done
