- Summary
- 1820. When Liam Twethewey inherits ancient Wyndcliff Hall in Pevlyn, Cornwall, he hopes to open a china clay pit on the estate's moorland to employ the tenants. When he arrives, however, a shipwreck on his property and its survivors puts his plans on hold. Evelyn Bray has lived in Pevlyn her entire life; after her grandfather's fall from fortune, he became the steward at Wyndcliff Hall. As mysteries surrounding the shipwreck survivors intensify, Liam and Evelyn are thrown together as they attempt to untangle a web of deceit and secrets. Their loyalties separate them, but will their love be strong enough to overcome their differences? -- adapted from back cover
