Summary
After rescuing the slave girl Diana in Shumballa, Conan pledges to likewise liberate her sister Natala, in exchange for the location of an immense treasure whispered to be lost in the desert sands of Stygia. Determined to claim this hidden hoard, Conan and his band of Kushite guardsmen turned mercenaries enter into an uncertain alliance with a hodgepodge army of thieves and outlaws led by the disgraced prince Almuric--a platitude-spouting fool with nothing but pillage and plunder on his mind. The wily Cimmerian's not the only one who covets the Stygian treasure, however--someone else has eyes on the same prize, and it's none other than the Lord of the Black Ring himself...Thoth-Amon!
