Summary
"Giraffes are some of the most fascinating animals on the African savanna. Yet they're facing threats from climate change and competition from humans for natural resources. In addition, Uganda's Nubian giraffes faced a unique challenge. Nearly all of the country's two hundred and fifty giraffes were grouped in one area within Murchison Falls National Park. And companies were set to begin drilling for oil there, which would make the area unlivable for giraffes. To preserve their dwindling population, the Ugandan government enlisted the help of a giraffe conservation organization to move a group of giraffes across a river to safer territory. Follow their incredible journey to their new home!" --Book jacket
