Summary
Jonathan Hickman's incendiary farewell to Krakoa! Moira MacTaggert, longtime friend and ally of the X-Men, is herself a mutant, having the power of reincarnation. In each of her previous nine lives, she has witnessed the persecution and destruction of her kind. In one life, she even sought to cure it -- until a painful encounter with the precognitive Destiny set her on a different path. Now on her tenth life, thanks to Destiny's words of warning, Moira knows that her chances to save her species from inevitable doom are running out. Together, Moira, Charles Xavier, and Magneto used all her past knowledge to build the nation of Krakoa, a safe haven where mutants can even be brought back from the dead...except for one. Moira simply will not allow Destiny to return. But Mystique, Destiny's wife, serves on the Quiet Council that governs Krakoa -- and she has made sacrifices based on promises make by Xavier and Magneto that Destiny would one day be returned to her. For Mystique, the time has come to hold them to their word, and if she doesn't get what she wants, everything they have built may go up in flames. --
